I am not sure about the leaps. I know about 3 weeks ago Barrons had someone in an article that was buying them. 2001 way out.

The problem with leaps is that they do nothing for your buying power. When a stock starts to climb, I often margin a little to get maximum return. Its a dangerous game, and I have gotten bitten, but overall it seems to work. As the stock climbs, your buying power will climb also. So you don't have to sell to buy.

Options are treated as cash at the purchase price, so regardless of how much they climb, they do not add to your buying power. To get the worth of your leaps you must sell. But they do offer great return potential.
