Very interesting Rande. Do you think this decision by SI to make membership free has anything to do with that new ruling about stock promoters not being allowed to be paid in gazillions of free shares? Just a thought but just maybe they realized after that ruling that SI might turn into a ghost town? It would be interesting to know just what percentage of SI posters were actually stock promoters. No need to really answer my questions if you feel uncomfortable. I understand your situation and I'm glad there's something to look forward to in terms of a really good stock message board site. I'm on the mailing list and look forward to the opening. I have always enjoyed reading your thread even though I don't post here often. I want to thank you for maintaining the high level of integrity with this thread . . . I know it's not an easy thing to do here. Thanks Lola:)

Subpeonas are starting to come thicker and faster to the message board keepers. I wonder if the decision to discontinue membership fees has anything to with liability issues. Anyway, there are plenty of SI members who never paid memberships and were grandfathered in when Si went commercial.

I saw that thread with the petition re the new site, I thought free membership was only on a trial basis. I joined SI about 16 months ago and it has certainly changed since that time. Please keep us posted Rande.
