I tried the tests also and got throughput of 39K. Suggestions were as follows: This is reasonable performance, so your browser and system seem to be working fine. This means there's probably not much you can do tuning the browser itself to get more performance. But if you're still looking for more speed, check out the following SIX steps: 1) Finish reading the rest of BT2K's report and take whatever other corrective actions it suggests. Then, run (or re-run) the full 'Professional' version of BT2K (at browsertune.com ) to see what problems remain. This will help you to isolate and more easily correct throughput issues. 2) Consider your connection alternatives. See A WIDER BOTTLENECK at winmag.com . 4) To ensure your PC as a whole is operating properly, run WINTUNE (it's free!) at winmag.com . 5) Perhaps your ISP simply isn't up to par. Visit isps.com to see if better/other/faster ISPs exist in your area. 6) Finally, after making any changes to your setup Re-run the BT2K tests, taking care to clear the cache and to follow all other instructions. The€ow PS: Addendum to possible Norton effects...tried sending file to floppy...rattle and smoke came out of A drive..locked up everything..had to reboot 3 times...now seems to be ok...think it was p-oed at me LOL
