You slay me! AOL isn't in the same league as Microsoft. AOL could be gone in 10 years.

Those stodgie old fogies making selections for the Dow components limit their candidates to NYSE listed stocks, so msft (and csco and intc) are out of contention. That's why the s&p500 is a better barometer of the market.
