Daffodil,

CK has been an INVALUABLE resource with her research and awareness campaign on embedded systems.

Frankly, I would have understand VERY little on the matter had it not been for her highlighting where these little ubitquitous pests are lurking in our machinery. And I have passed on this knowledge and concern as best as I know how to those who deal with the issues.

That said, she and I have had our differences, especially on issues of severity of disruptions from Y2K.

But NEVER ONCE have I ever felt any ridicule or deprecation for her or her views. She is doing what SHE FEELS is required for her to have a comfort level with Y2K. She has clearly done yeoman's work in preparing for her family and sacrificed much to be so prepared.

The rest of all are in different situations, lead different lifestyles, or have different family/employment commitments. All of these require different planning equations. But no one should be maligned for how much or how little they do. Everyone should be encouraging each other to just keep their cool, no matter how bad or how minor the disruptions are.

But I highly advise everyone to thoughtfully reflect on what their life may be like should there be severe disruptions. Y2K disruption are no different than what could occur AT ANY TIME from ANY CAUSAL EVENT.

Thanks for letting take this post to state that for the record.

Regards,

Ron
