you know, jeff, there is nothing wrong with conflict or confrontation. it is not only scriptural, it is encouraged, and documented over and over in your sacred writ. look how many times your new testament hero, Paul talked about 'fight' and fight the good fight." when you talk in your profile about trying to stay right with God, and be a better husband, you are courageous owning up to the points of highest CONFLICT within you and your existence. no one can fault you for your noble priorities. but you are indicating that it is a struggle to do both. now last time i looked, christianity seemed to have a good deal pugalistically encouraging phraseology to say about some-thing/one/ideal vs some-thing else. the use of the vs is an indication that there are two adversarial positions being staked out. not since the last great world war when even enemies set aside their polarities to defeat Germany and then break the blockage of Berlin, has there been a more globally polarizing issue set to the fore than this y2k event. can you imagine how different the outcome if Hitler had had spin doctors and arayan supremicist czars and congressional committees to obfuscate and negotiate backroom deals, and the internet to rely upon for instant dissemination of his horrid message of killing the jews? the closer 01/01/00 comes, and the more testing failures that are reported, the more vs we will be seeing. just remember this: the current rage win at all costs tactic is NOT FEMA sending home pamphlets to the kiddies, or koskinen spinning, is all about populace nullification. was there anything civilized about showing the rodney king beating videotape right here on the streets of L.A. over what, 60+ times? to that jury sitting in judgment over his attackers? and look how creation has been nullified to the message of Christ's death and ressurection, because it has been a mere 2000 years give or take a few since THAT event? i submit to you that while some may say, "ick, i don't want to play with your kids because they're not playing nice," we are all in the same sandbox when we blindly accepted computers making our lives easier to access information instantly like we do instant coffee. mark my words, more than sand will fly in this particular conflict, and those afraid of a little blood and confrontation will be easily spotted. are we to stop spreading the word about the dark side of this issue, because no one wants to go home with sand in their eyes, their shoes, their hair, their mouth? we wouldn't have won WWII if we had those kinds of 'afraid of a little dirt' on the Omaha and Normandy Beaches. and we WON'T have any adams and eves, adams and steves, and eves and leighs (hey is that politically correct enough for all disrespectful young twirps!!!) to rebuild/replace/repair if there isn't a little dirt on us in this Y2K sandbox!!! I guarantee you this is true! think about it, son. it wasn't until Dec 12th when USA got OUR noses bloodied, that we 'joined' the conflict in a rather decisive confrontive way, and prevailed, thanks to a certain decidedly nasty surprise. there isn't any way "Christians" as a group can come from a vs belief system and hope to bring civility to an immoveable date and an unavoidable bloody outcome. so cut us 'confronters' some slack with you? this is life and death here, this y2k event. and only 1% of the entire human population 'get it' now there is a vs statistic for you! so why are you expending so much effort in this y2k sandbox to make the vastly outnumbered 'get it about y2k chaos' play nice? you trying to nullify us as well? well, from a fellow doomer such as yourself, i personally say, NO THANKS, Jeff. I've got work to do, or as to use the words of that one fellow, more water to haul and more wood to chop.
