Yes you are right. ATHM's real threat may not be open access, AOL or RBOCs's ADSL rollout(ADSL can't make much wave anyway due to its physical limitation). ATHM's real threat may be from inside, Armstrong's will, Hindery's will, Cox's will, the rest of the committee's will. That's troublesome. AOL can have today because there is one Steve Case dictating the operation. But not the case with ATHM. ATHM has a good leader but he doesn't have enough power.

Can we blame ATHM for this? No, without all the MSOs, ATHM wouldn't even be possible. All of them pitched in the money at the beginning to start this company.

I am for hand off ATHM, but I am against selling it too early to Yahoo. Partnering with Yahoo is far better than become a part of Yahoo. You can get the sex by living together, why marry?
