Sure DVD quality would be nice.

But what kind of quality do you get with 1mbit?

Agreed. With the current node sizes we will not get sustained 3 mbit/s. Jitter is another problem.

I'm looking or the backbone throughput numbers in my notes... I don't believe the backbone can handle the demands of live video - even at a quality that 1 mbit/s can give you. Something closer to 100kbits/s is more likely (total guess for now).

Video on Demand is a better fit. I'd certainly pay for freedom from Broadcast T.V.s schedule.
