Elmer - RE: "the point is that you and I know nothing about the manufacturability of the MIA-thlon."

Who says you and I need to know?

"None are available and we don't know when they will be."

OH, really?

"To extrapolate this to mean that the yields are great and there is a high binsplit is beyond absurd."

Why would anyone extrapolate those kind of thoughts when they have nothing to base their judgement on? I have Athlon thoughts, but I have no way to support what I think so I don't post them. There have been almost zero of those type of posts at this thread by anyone here.

"Human psychology is at work here"

Sure is. Just read the posts here, YOURS included.

"AMDevotes want so badly to believe that tell them anything positive and they.. will.. believe."

And YOU want so badly to believe anything negative that you will jump on it and kick the crap out of it until there is no blood left to bleed.

For example, if Compaq only comes out with a 500 and 550MHz Athlon system (with 600 coming later, as some site reported will happen) within the next 11 days, you will be moaning and groaning "Where is the 600?". And you may continue to say where is the Athlon because you won't be able to purchase it from companies on Pricewatch until Aug. 27 (the date posted yesterday) even though systems will be available at retail stores before then.
