Picked up a copy of the Sept/Oct 1999 edition of the Online Investor today. "Can We Talk", on pages 33-44, is all about stock message boards. Two-thirds of page 35 is devoted to SI's webmistress, Jill Munden, with a large color photo of her and six paragraphs of text. There are large sections devoted to the "majors": SI, Yahoo, Motley Fool, and Raging Bull. I was very impressed with the authors, Paul Barr and Jennifer Tomshack, devoting two thirds of a page to companies who sue their on-line detractors. And, lastly, two-thirds of page 44 is devoted to Janice Shell, with a color picture of her and seven paragraphs of text.

Saving the best for last, check out Kevin Lichtman's column entitled "Barbed Wires" on page 80. It's all about these three people who created a fictitious company called "Webnode" and were sued by Business Wire because Business Wire didn't find it "funny" that someone could use their services to educate the investing public about scams rather than just scamming them outright.
