Sunny:

Thanks for the update... that's a real service you provide.

Looking at the widespread correction in all the internet stocks, I think we're facing that typical rotation and now it's the "value" stocks (I still don't see how Coca Cola can be a great value when it is growing at around 7% and trading at a 40 P/E but since Warren Buffet is a fan, I guess it will always be a value play).

The current psychology reflects investor perspective that is completely near-term: the next Alan Greenspan proclamation, the next earnings report, the next report on internet users/hits/transactions, etc. At other times (bullish times), people adopt a 2 year horizon: regardless of today's earnings report, internet users will grow by 50% over the next two years and e-commerce will quadruple (my examples are merely hypotheticals but probably not bad guesses).

While I'm nervous and not buying now, I'm holding all core positions for the long term and expecting much higher valuations 6 mos. from now.

Thanks again for your contributions to the board.

-- Pete

83% engage: 1129 mio. $
03% Yahoo (?): 780 mio. $
17% lycos: 505 mio. $
16% chemdex: 105 mio. $
24% silknet: 90 mio. $
06% critical path: 87 mio. $
-----------------------------
publicly traded 2696 mio. $
-----------------------------
AltaVista IPO: 3000 mio. $ (estimated)
Blaxxun&Navisite: 800 mio. $ (estimated)
icast: 2000 mio. $ (estimated)
Addit. holdings: 1000 mio. $ (estimated)

Overall 9496 mio. $
vs. market cap of cmgi: ~ 9600 mio. $ (after AV dilution)

interesting that the market cap and the holdings value seem to be narrowing.
maybe my assumptions (AV, Blaxxun etc.) aren't that wrong. we'll see in the future.
