By the way, good morning, I got up a bit early, and decided to log on (5:35, Eastern Daylight Time here)....I should think that there will be a diminution of the role of the United States in Europe as it takes the lead in its own defense, but I suspect that will be gradual....On Azerbaijan, it would be preferable if that were not regarded as a Nato problem per se, although it is a problem in which various Nato members have an interest. Most of what I would like to see occur is diplomatic, but I think that encouraging a Turkic sphere, with a pole in Turkey and one in Kazakhstan, might be a good idea, with American involvement in organizational and training issues, and our involvement also to seek to allay fears within Armenia and Russia of the scope of this cooperation......
