Wexler BGP sell reco validated! Bill, I recently published a Java Multimedia book, and as a result, I have access to a number of contacts in the publishing industry who are familiar with the Borders situation. Here's the consensus: Borders actually is a well run business (and from a technical book perspective, superior to B&N), but they are getting eaten alive by Amazon.com and other web competitors. And unfortunately for BGP, nothing on the horizon will change this. I really had my doubts about this call, but your research may have even understated the magnitude of the problem.
