DB PIPER JAFFRAY SETS $38 12-MONTH PRICE TARGET FOR QWEST

Ugh... so even if Piper Jaffray is right, in 12 months I'll still be 20% or so down on my investment.

Anyway, I wouldn't sell the QWST now anyway, because the paper loss that I've taken already is past and I can't undo that, but I think that from here ($26.5) QWST has excellent growth potential. If it runs back to 38 that's a 40-some% gain in one year, and most stocks don't do that.

Great News! I knew that if Qwest fell far enough, the analysts would jump back in there and rate it as a buy.

Too bad the target for the next year is below where we were back in the 'Good Old Days' of the pre-US West merger talks.
