Matty, This is America, the land of the FREE! Not if they feel they will make money in other areas. It's not just MSFT doing this, there are others.

AltaVista and Netzero already doing free access, although you have to look at ads, (but there is a way to get around that :-)

MSFT may use T to provide free access as long as you sign up with T long distance, so that won't be completely free and won't be considered dumping.

that ofcourse is a concern. but msft can justify it by saying that its "free to the consumers" and they make the money through advertizing. No one's suing NBC and CBS for their "free programming". I think msft's case is arguable, and yes they would quash aol...

AOL is offering free internet is Europe, why can't MSFT offer the same?
