I don't ski expertly. When I was in Vail the young folks selling and buying there at the shops thought marker was the best binding around. Marker doesn't get sold that aggressively here by the sport shops -- here the sales people say that the Solomon binding is easier to sell (how it works is more obvious to buyers). Marker is a few $ less expensive at each binding quality category than Solomon. They also hint here in NY that the Solomon is safer. That worries me a bit. The east however is probably a smaller market than the west.
