Steve, I think it's been personal for some time...that's Gates style. MSN was never as successful as he planned.

i think netscape started the whole thing, with being the main reason for the gov't to have a case. microsoft saw aol as a white knight to netscape, a co. that could have collapsed under micorosoft's explorer. adding to aol's comments to msft, this sure seems like a payback. the gov't is probably boiling on its seat trying to find ways to stop micosoft.
if you look at what's going on with ko (coke) in europe, it's not really wise to upset regulators. i wouldn't say MSFT's tactics will work long term.
