Go2Net ALERT!! Bite the bullet and ditch that name ASAP! Until then, you can't build strong brand recognition - NO WAY JOSE! go, goto, cnet, gnet, go2net: ABSURD! Forget about copyrights, lawyers, litigation, JUST CHANGE IT!

Ever hear of an online bookseller called Computer Literacy? Unless you're an inet ipo junkie like me, I doubt it. But they changed the name. It's now called FatBrain.com. Ever hear of that? If not, will you forget it in the future? I doubt it. And guess what the stock did after the name change announcement? It skyrocketed! Why? Because the internet is all about BRAND - effectively communicating value to BILLIONS of people!

Dogpile.... now there's a GREAT name!! How many times did you hear that before it stuck in your noggin? And how many jokes have you heard about it since? And how many more will you hear in the future? That's all free publicity, folks. FREE! And Dogpile even conveys a message, by referring to what a metasearch engine is about - results after using it. In this day and age, irreverance is hip. It's cool. It's hot! Just like Dogpile!

Here's my new name for gnet: MetaDogPile - PURRFECT!!
