< think of all the pain the public has encountered on this Internet stock sell off where there has been significant forced selling based on margin calls. Will this alter the public's participation in the markets? > Wasn't it just the other day that either NITE, SCH or EGRP said that trading had fallen off in the most recent quarter? I think a lot of the so called traders who trade via the net felt that the market only moves one way --- up. Now that we've seen a small correction I imagine a lot of them are shell shocked to see certain valuations cut in half. I'd bet a number of them will reconsider the frequency with which they trade. I'd bet at least 75% of the traders who trade via web based brokers have never shorted. Dave
