Why not give it away for nothing? Or start with 7.95 with the intention of ultimately giving it away. When it's all done and over, the successful ISP's have plenty of other means of generating revenue. MSFT thinks radically like this and I wouldn't bet against them either.

andrew, i'm not saying free (or close to free) isp is illegal but if the gov't sees microsoft as its enemy, they may find other ways to cool them off. it seems they want the #1 spot in that segment, too, and that may squash aol over time. with the amount of cash they still have, msft can go after anybody. should there be some stop to it?
at least i can say idt is not targeting the us market the way others do. in fact, if you look at idt's history, they are after niche markets. they are plain and butter isp and not all the trash aol has to offer (i used to have idt as the first isp some years ago). i'll go with msft as soon as they'll start offering it (btw --get in early so you can get a nice username) --and out of aol.
what idt can do is team with a computer maker if they want the us market. for now, let the big guys lose some blood to see if it'll actually be profitable one day.
international calls is what made n2p a success, and idt can do the same with the same costumers with isp, imo. they know these markets.
