My view on it is that it helps show how badly needed @home is. Microsoft At&t and ATHM vs baby bells and AOL. May the best one win.

If MSFT has 1M using it free, it's enough to upset the apple cart. It's a precedent, a raising of the bar, and no one can run away from it. Practicality at scale does not count. If Jermo had been jetting to Redmond rather than to Palm Springs, ATHM would be privy and would have a response already cooked. That would have been the counter argument against COX. That's where I would have been and that's what would have shut down COX. They have to be re-opening these merger issues today. Can you hear the frantic phone calls among the big four?
