Yet another new gas fired electric plant.

Houston, Aug. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Reliant Energy Inc., owner of
Texas's second-biggest utility, said it plans to build a power
plant in central Florida for an undisclosed price to sell
electricity during periods of peak demand.

The gas-fired, 460-megawatt plant, to be built about 20
miles southeast of Orlando, will generate enough power to light
about 460,000 homes. Houston-based Reliant expects to complete
construction in December 2001.

Edge CEO sees difficulty in returning to 800 rigs drilling for want of drilling capability. In this morning's conference call, the CEO stated that his typical gas deplection rate is 4% per month. Therefore he experiences a big need to drill. Due to attrition in the drillers (primarily canibilization of rigs) he thinks that the country lacks the capability to get back to 800 active rigs in the near future.
