What I have found is that the highflying stocks do not bottom monolithically on the day of a bottom, amzn and yhoo bottomed in on aug 31st and you paid much higher prices to buy on OCt 8th.

Lu, CSCO, Dell, etc. did not give up big time in the aug 1998 sell-off but were pummelled around Oct 8th to much lower levels, all below their 200 dma, so even if the market has more bouts of weakness, some stuff is on sale, today that probably won't be getting cheap, this will be the case when we get the first big scary climax day maybe the 11th or the 16-17th of this month. It may be later also
