I think the point James is making is that corona or whatever thin client is going to need the apps before thin client product acceptance take-off.

Well for some things such as Email (Eg hotmail, eudoramail) the apps are out there. Needs some WP and Spreadsheet capabilities.(or is there ???)

One thing going for thin-client is that microsoft has stuffed up on providing an operating system for large databases/e-commerce so the switch from PC-Client-unix-server to thin client is quite easy.

(I'm taking the above view - as I've yet to read an explanation why microsoft does not provide such an OS for its own business requirements)

I guess java is going to help get the app's going but this could take 2or3 years - so perhaps the estimates of corona sales could be optimistic.

Just a matter of time though - I'd assume anyone whos a corporate user or non techy is looking to improve on the maintenance time required for fat PC's.

Regards

Derek

Wrong Charles. I just find it entertaining that McNealy has the knads to rename a Java Station and think that the market is now ready to accept it ... and you guys buy it all hook line and sinker.
