Short-covering...my opinion only I have made good money "guessing" when the shorts are going to cover. You will get anywhere from two to a gazillion points of profit when this happens, if you "guess" anywhere near correctly. Short-covering is what causes most stock price rallies in the first place, and I hope not too many people get fooled into thinking "the analysts did it" or "suddenly the stock looked good to buyers."

i'm not sure this was all short covering, imho solid shorts with solid plans may have kept short i am a 'newbie' short but i covered some+still hold short position the dive helped me cover and the bounce really didn't affect NOPTurd because the rational for the short didn't change NOPTurd may drop 10 more points imho on the other hand, i went long RIMM just my opinion ynot ;)

Kendall...I always enjoy, respect, and am thankful for your input but we might as well quit running on about how we are being manipulated and get on with it. The only cure for this chronic situation is help for each other and guidance from a "semi-pro" like Jenna and the Gemmers. CEPH scared the bejeezus out of me today bec it dropped by coincidence with the rest of the market.....everybody who knew they were going to issue preferred stk picked up some common at a real bargain...I just needed defibrillation (try saying that after a day like today)..anyway, noone is dead on the floor so tomorrow is another day.
