OT: Implications of POSIX compliancy....

Sorry for the off-topic post, but I have a Mac question
that I have not been able to find an answer to:

- I understand that Mac OSX will be 'POSIX compliant'
even though apparently Apple will not seek official
certification. My question is what does "POSIX compliant'
actually mean, in layman's terms? Does it mean, for instance,
that an application written for Sun/SOLARIS that is POSIX
compliant can be easily ported to run on OSX?

Thanks, Lambo
