Thank you for your support, and especially for your much more diplomatic way of putting things. I try my best to be tactful but, when I get my toes stepped on, I tend to get a little gruff.

Gus, and even MNI, try to study what goes on in America but their sources tend to be specialized and limited. The only way to really get to know the people of this country, is to travel the back roads and talk face to face. The media tends to concentrate on the large and newsworthy cities where they think the action is. To really know America, one must get to know the ordinary citizen who builds the bridges, paves the roads, fills the churches, tries to save his hard earned wages, and unfortunately, fight the wars that take him far from home, sometimes fighting for a cause he does not fully understand. The politicians, sports stars, celebrities, etc. are the fat of the land. The average Joe is the backbone of America. TD

C Kahn,

MNI, I have to agree with truedog on the point he made about GJ coming to America. And truedog isn't being argumentative, he's stating a fact. GJ can say whatever he wants on the internet. But, if he was in the U.S.A., and stated some of his ideas face-to-face, he'd be on the next space shuttle to the moon, strapped to the solid fuel propellant.

A trip to the moon?? Really? I wouldn't dare to think of it --even in my wildest dreams!! Yes: put me down your next ''Greencard Lottery''.... I'm packing! Err... of course, regarding the flight accomodation, I might have some restriction as to ''the solid fuel propellant'' --just think of what happened to these two miserable youths from Guinea who clandestinely went aboard a Sabena plane en route for Belgium. They were found freeze-dried in the landing gear suite....

Seriously, I know I'm touching a sensitive nerve with my JFK story: most Americans just repress any conspiracy theory about the JFK assassination while they don't realize that the Oswald screenplay is just as much conspiratorial as Mark Lane's or Paul Kangas's! The difference is that the Oswald-the-lone-gunman is the OFFICIAL conspiracy.

As regards TD, I feel he's getting a bit emotional about all this.... from now on, I'll call him by a new moniker: HTD -- Hoity-Toity-Dog!

Regards,
Gustave.
