JB: I used to stove-pop popcorn at least once a week = for years. Then, as with so many other unnoticed practices, I stopped popping popcorn. (In my cupboard, I constantly notice the coffee can containing my remaining supply of unpopped popcorn - and I am in shallow wonder as to why it no longer has the appeal it once had.) So, it will have to be other than popping popcorn, ok? I did not return to do a low blow at Terry. In fact, I did not return at all. There was a Message Indicator on my SI page. I pushed it. And here was this dreadfully dopey display of doggerel that seemed to be designed to piss on my pyre - for no apparent reason. (Except, possibly, that Terry, as indicated in my response to the drivel, had suffered some severe mental setback.) Terry is not my enemy. He is an, at times, interesting oddity in my experience. Dichotomous. On the "Bright" end there are his impossible social positions as well as the cleverness of his cyber trysting with Edwarda. On the "Stupid" end there is trash, which is so palpable as to not demand enumeration. During my brief revisiting of the thread I have not seen any Penny- Christine twinkling. Years ago, I found their exchanges fascinating, full of grand spirit. But I did notice Steven, splitting lumps and lumping splits. Now, there is a suit of armor in which I have noticed no chinks. I believe the impression I have made, if any at all, has to do with the disgust that Randian reasoning produces in me. I essentially loathe such attitudes as Terry's in response to Steven's lethal landslide story. Thanks for dropping the line. I will now drift away. george
