This is great:
The Cross Harbor has already obtained some government funding to build two new float bridges each in New Jersey and New York that could give it the capacity to move 100,000 rail cars annually.

An interesting post from the Canadian Pacific chat board:
"CP is seriously considering extending Iron highway/Expressway service into Chicago (via Detroit)
and now NY City perhaps by early next year. CP would never pursue something if it couldn't make a buck:
its just not the CP way.
