Following Juniper Networks' recent initial public offering, Nortel Networks--an
investor in the start-up--sold its stake for $57 million, according to company
executives. Nortel was among many firms in the computer industry to grab a
stake in the much-hyped Internet equipment firm. Other firms which still hold a
stake in Juniper include Ericsson, 3Com, and the UUNet Technologies
subsidiary of MCI Worldcom, among others.
