So, What Is A "Bung" Small Thing?

I am heartened to read that no less an analyst than Hagen at Forrester has basically endorsed the prospects of micropayments.
What I find baffling is his "but". It's like he's implying that there's something bad about having a Visa or MasterCard underlying this "nickel-and-diming" Net. For the umpteenth time (just in case Claugus is still out there somewhere) WAVX, at least, isn't trying to replace credit cards. Duhhh.... Hel-LO, Guam?

However, I am even more heartened to hear the sterling endorsement from HAUP's conference call of the Wave e-commerce chip and the reference to (Bob Metcalfe's) oft-cited "pay-as-you-go" Internet.
It was like that section of the HAUP conference call had been, in essence, scripted by Steven or Peter Sprague. Ahhhhh, how lovely to have proof-of-concept... with more to come.

Best Regards,

c m

Totalling Up All This Free Stuff...

Let's see...
Free PCs. (Granted, some are not so free. Right now, at least.)
+ Free ISPs in the UK... and Microsoft is trying to do it here to
erode AOL's profits.
+ And free consumer appliances coming (a natural evolution)...
(Total according to the shorts):
"Heck-far, Lummy, they're having to give the stuff away."
(Actual total):
Conduits for paid subscriptions to digital content and pay-per-play or pay-per-view and try-before-you-buy and if-you-don't-pay-you-don't-play-'cause-there's-a-chip-that'll-cut-your-water-off... and a company that CAN (I hope, WILL) get a cut on this kind of metered content.

Best Regards,
