So, what if we set it up in such a way that whoever started the public folder had some kind of "editorial control" as to what was listed and/or stayed in the folder. We'd provide some very simple mechanism for the "editor" to add/delete/rename sumitted posts. If you didn't like the
way that someone was "managing" the folder, you could start your own.

Exactly my thinking. Let anyone start a public folder..anyone add to the public folder but the one who created the folder could delete/maintain it. I believe different users would use their imagination in different ways. Maybe the stock threads would keep posts about press releases in a press release folder or??

Also I believe some users would want a folder that others could see but not add to or change in any way.

I do not know if there are any in between options. ie Someone could still make mischief. Who wants to come home to a folder full of junk..ie intentional misuse. An option for a dozen volunteers with access to a folder ..in addition to the other options may also be useful..if technically feasible and if it could be done without a lot of effort on SI's part. If one could sort the entries by date and time cleaning out a folder full of mischief might be a simple thing.

If we had something basic to start with...most likely there would be some helpful input..ways to improve.

Thanks for listening

Bryan, I just wanted to say Bravo to your recent articulate and well thought out posts regarding the various questions/complaints/suggestions of late. The improvements your team has been working on are also coming along nicely.

May I suggest that this kind of dialogue with your customers is the most important part of your job right now. And in order to ensure the wonderful people and community of SI stay together during this period of change, that everyone at Go2net understand the degree of importance your time spent here has.
