It was poorly written, you're right. SLAC = 1 mile long, +/-, come to think of it, but you can see the "building", like a loooong skinny low barracks from 280.

Some of these futuristic technologies that surface in the science mags, like the quantum molecular computer from a month ago, you wonder if they ever see the light of day.

EMC da boss for a good long while, IMO.
