Well, the herbal medicine book said that old folk sometimes used a tincture or infusion of the seeds for headaches. All I can say is they must have had some peculiar headaches. Not, honestly, something to mess with casually; very strong and highly unpredictable. Very different effects on different people. Strictly for the young and stupid. I don't regret having been that way once, but it was a long time ago.

Grows wild in the town up in the mountains where I used to live. The town is a regular stop on the Eurotourist trail, and occasionally some of them get too adventurous; I recall seeing a pair of young Germans on all fours on the lawn outside the church. Naked. Eating grass. Bit of a sensation. The tourists get into the mushrooms a bit as well; when you hear of someone taking an ice-cold bath in the middle of the night, you know what they've been nibbling.
