Yeah, right. Cyrix's engines stalled for the past few years, all even before the big Celeron push. And IDT never got off the ground in the first place, and the end of the runway was quickly approaching.

Considering how Via's chipsets were underpowered and unstable compared to Intel's, imagine how well they're going to do x86 processors, especially with Intel and AMD pushing ahead like never before.

Intel did nothing of the sort.

Cyrix and IDT had no real technology - just inferior products that they couldn't produce and sell economically.

VIA won't do any better with these products - although they may make them cheaply - assuming they can get decent and "cheap" wafer foundry capacity.
