So, If A Dumb Person Carries A Smart Card...? The topic is smart cards. Here are couple of links to our government's work in the area of smart cards. As you'll recall, both N*ABLE and Wave are members of the Smart Card Forum. Here's a nice overview from Treasury about smart card technology, dated April, 1999. Here's everything you could possibly want to know about smart cards: zolatimes.com And here's a link to a synopsis of a 1999 book called "Trust In Cyberspace." One of the people who presented to the committee that authored this was Mark Stefik... a name that should be familiar from the Economist article.
