dejavu, here's my ST view of the market:

Message 10844811

I think there is further downside for many nets (especially in the fall) - but there will be some very definite differentiation between the issues. The strong will clearly separate from then weak.

However, for some of the stronger net stocks (and even more generally most stocks including most nets) I do NOT believe this this is a "fakeout" (my one exception is for some of the weaker issues may see their true bottom next week per my post above). I think we have seen the lows on f.ex. CNET, which bounced from 27 to 35 today. I simply do not believe that we will revisit 27 on CNET anytime soon, if ever (OK, perhaps if the market absolutely melts down later in the year). So, shorting is not recommended for most issues in my view.

Further, I think once the Y2K fear is over in Jan 2K - you will see a huge rally.

Bottom line: yes, there will most likely be further trouble in the fall, but many issues, including nets, have seen their low for *now*. And early next year, a huge rally, IMO.
