EarthLink to Distribute Co-Branded AOL Instant Messenger Product

DULLES, Va. and PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 6, 1999--America Online (NYSE: AOL) and EarthLink Network (Nasdaq: ELNK) today announced an agreement under which EarthLink will distribute a co-branded version of AOL Instant Messenger (sm), making it available to its over 1.3 million members.
With this co-branded AIM software, Earthlink members will be able to instant message -- that is, trade personalized and private online messages in real time -- with their family, business colleagues and friends. In addition, Earthlink members will become part of the AIM community, including 17 million AOL members and 28 million registered AIM users.
