Maurice - Good rant - That implies that there is some process which defines the surface and the correct order in which to connect to the information they provide free, with no licenses and no warnings that they are criminal lawyers.

Agree absolutely, but don't assume that the legal system will 'do the right thing'. The history of IPR is one of massive confusion and poorly written statutes, often for decades, after the introduction of new technology. The saving grace is that it is probably true that people making the laws and deciding the cases will actually have some experience with the technology (unlike with software IPR).

Maqurice. Yes, I'll take freedom over security most any time. Someone once said that those who are willing to trade their freedom for security will end up having neither. Governments are in the business of trading their constituancy security and taking their freedom in exchange.

Excerpt from qdog's post:

United States Army Signal Corp did alot of experimentation and R&D in the 60's and 70's with a theory developed by a Bell Labs scientist by the name of Shannon. That technology is CDMA. So get off the kick that government is all evil. You are enjoying a media that has it's origins was for ensuring the delivery of nuclear weapons. That was why TCP/IP was developed. CDMA and OFDM are communication techniques for the sole purpose of killing the enemy, by ensuring secure and interference resistance battlefield communications.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...........

Maurice, is this true? Is this the genesis of CDMA?
