Yeah but we're talking GOLDMAN here... that was not your regular IPO, the most anticipated, breathlessy-awaited IPO in the Street's history. In a typical ironic "trader's logic" twist [if they are traders at all (which they certainly are) or have even a whisp of contrarian in them] then they would want to short it on the first day, if only just a little bit... just for the [internal] recordbooks. Especially with that no-lose Green-shoe clause... their Grandfathers would be proud of them! ;) -Steve
