>>LOL<<

:-). Looks like JOHN W isn't going to be posting here any more, since Amazon didn't close (or get to even intraday) $105 on Friday.

I guess we aren't going to be recommending him to take Blodget's job. -GG-

Seriously though. I don't know about anyone else, but I invest for one reason only: To attempt to make some money. Period. If I need my ego stroked, I'll try to find that somewhere else. It's utter folly to trade in order to prove that you were right.

If I read JOHN W's post a week ago Wednesday right, he's long now at about $100. When the bottom dropped and the stock fell to low 90s, John couldn't bear to be wrong. Instead of issuing an ultimatum to himself (never posting here again), it would seem to have been wiser to simply admit that the buy-point was not too good.

But, some people can't bear to be wrong, and unfortunately that can get expensive.

(the above is more aimed in JOHN W's direction, in case he is lurking.

JOHN W: BTW, you could always simply admit that it was silly to issue an ultimatum for yourself, and change your mind. But Glen might not be too happy about it.
