One of my brilliant observations was that there's a distinction between the archetypal truth behind a myth that shouldn't be confused with the myth itself. I wasn't sure which CH was promoting- belief in the myth or in the truth it represented. When he said he chose not to watch certain things, that to me acknowledges the truth, but is a decision to protect oneself from the ugliness, not by denying reality, just by choosing to focus on what is more helpful. We can recognize truth without needing to immerse ourselves in what we find impacts us negatively.
