Modern Records launches Web site Modern Records Inc MZR Shares issued 19,680,000 Aug 13 close $0.88 Mon 16 Aug 99 News Release Mr. Johan Grandin reports Modern Records has launched its corporate Web site www.modernrecords.com. The site is the company's first foray into the Internet and it is designed to showcase artists, who are currently signed on the label. The site is divided into seven major corporate components which function as an on-line investor package. Visitors to the site can view management profiles with photos, a corporate profile and direct links to third-party providers of news, delayed quotes, stock charts, SEC filings and more. The home page will be updated on a continuing basis and will provide direct sales of the company's multiplatinum artist, Stevie Nicks, and will also have direct links to some of Stevie Nicks' own sites. Stevie Nicks, who has sold over 100 million albums, combined with Fleetwood Mac and her solo career, is viewed by many as one of the top female rock vocalists of all time. Recently, VH-1.com users voted Stevie Nicks as the number one female rock vocalist of all time. Modern Records recently signed the Jacksons for a multialbum deal and they will also be featured on the site in the future. The Jacksons have been recognized leaders in the international recording industry since 1969 when the first Jackson 5 single was released. In 1997 the Jackson 5 was inducted into the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame. The Jacksons were the youngest group to ever receive such an honour. Prior to the release of the new Jacksons album on the Modern Records label, the www.modernrecords.com Web site will offer sales of the Jackson 5 (ABC, Motown) and also provides direct sales of Randy Jackson's siblings Michael Jackson (Thriller, Sony Music) and Janet Jackson (Janet, Virgin Records), as well as 3T (Brotherhood, Sony Music). Multiplatinum seller Jeffrey Osborne also has an album on the Modern Records label, Something Warm For Christmas. Modern Records intends to market this product extensively over the Christmas season. Modern Records Web site sales of albums are directly linked to Amazon.com and its album purchase program, through the Amazon.com associates program. "We are delighted to launch the www.modernrecords.com Web site," stated Modern Records president and chief executive officer, Randy Jackson. "We have in essence, the ability to now expose our current and newly signed artists to a worldwide audience of music lovers. We are additionally planning to offer our fans the ability to listen to music tracks of, and interviews with, our artists. We are also happy to have my family on the site. This will not only increase sales for past and future recordings, but will also promote traffic and bring awareness for our other Modern Records artists."
