Well, that is a good question. However, the answer is a little more subtle than the question, especially if you are thinking of the two companies as investments at this point in time. EMC starts with a huge handicap in that regard: their valuation is far higher than MTI's valuation. The markets that they are addressing are so large and growing so quickly and will in all likelihood continue that growth for the next 3-5 years at least that there is plenty of business for both to go after and not even begin to affect each other's growth rates.

Of course, the real issue is: a lot of companies are going after the same business, attracted by the growth prospects. Will MTI hold its own against the field at large, and will EMC continue to grow at its current rate and maintain its hefty margins in face of this growing competition?
