J.T., i have a bunch of gold stocks in my long term portfolio...i bought them mostly near their recent lows and am prepared to ride out any short term volatility...sentiment on gold is so bearish for such a long time now that a massive medium term rally is possible.

regards,

hb

"heinz, you might consider a trade in the XAU Index here sitting at 65.70 for a quick trade to 70 over the next week. XAU is consolidating in here, and with short buzz on wall street plus the potential firecracker of the international front I mentioned last night-- for a quick trade in-the-money only or use sub-accounts funds or va's."

Monday, Aug 9 Close:

PHLX Gold and Silver Index 68.54 +3.69 +5.7%

"I will be looking to blow out of this within next few days. Moving objective up to 72.50 from 70."

I closed 1/2 position in XAU options for smart gain. I will switch out of half positions in VA and Mutual fund subaccounts in XAU plays at today's close and let other half run into PPI #'s tomorrow and CPI next week. I will close out on intraday test of 67.80 stop with all accounts and VA and Mutual Fund accounts at end of closing day. Otherwise, I let second 1/2 run to 75.50.
