Scott also promote his "have lunch or be lunch" philosophy. The
success of SUN is being extremely controversial and right about
the computer industry. He wants to occupy a unknown hill first
before other people find the hill is the gold mine. And he is
commited to SUN as far as he can see. IMHO, SUNW is poised to
go much higher in next several quarters. Scott is actually a
conservative man on financial front. When he said the next three
quarters will be very strong on TV, you better bet the business is
going to the moon. Buy on any DIP, man, we are on the ride.

Paul, Scott also reiterated SUNW

strategic philosophy in terms new to me: When there is a competitive battle, stake out a hill nobody thinks is important. However you have to be right in which hill to pick.

For me, I am incapable of understanding the whole battle. I am an EE but of a vintage where the professor said "...and last year the Transistor was invented." (1st job: Radio tube production!)

But I don't think anyone else comprehends the battle except a few of the CEOs, certainly not all of them. Look at the past fumblings of many Telcos.

So, what impressed me, a couple of years ago, was Scott when he responded to a journalist questioning Scott's strategic thinking ability: "You just wait and see" To me this expressed confidence based on competence.

So, the brief explanation today, of where he thinks SUNW is situated, makes sense. I'll buy some more soon.

he said we are rocking and rolling...not my words.. scott's words...

SUN MICROSYSTEMS INC is focusing on improving lead time for
product delivery and on recruiting top talent, the company's chief
executive said. "Business is great," said Scott McNealy during a
CNBC interview Friday. The main issue affecting the company is
delivering products with shorter lead time, he said. McNealy plans
to remedy this over the next three quarters by "ordering more
parts and shipping more. We've got great demand," he said. "The
Internet continues to rock and roll. Across the board we're seeing
people fired up about Spark and Solaris on the server side and
Java Genie on the client side." (Dow Jones)
