Some Money Managers Searching for Internet Bargains, WSJ Says

New York, Aug. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Some money managers believe they have found some bargains in the beaten-down Internet industry, and they include companies like Excite At Home Corp., Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. and TMP Worldwide Inc., the Wall Street Journal said in its ''Heard on the Street'' column. Money managers believe companies that have good complimentary non-Internet businesses, stand to benefit from the industry's growth or are beaten down pure Internet plays, have the best chance to recover. ''There has been so much blood let in the Internet stocks that we are finding some attractive names,'' Erik Gustafson, co-manager of the $900 million Stein Roe Young Investor Fund told the paper.

Excite At Home provides high-speed Internet access through cable lines, Check Point is the largest seller of Internet security software and TMP Worldwide is an online personnel recruiting company.
