Well, I see your point, but still, that's your personal perception of the run-up. Someone thinking the move DOES make sense in the greater scheme of things might well be right- and they are entitled to their opinion in the meantime, even if you don't see it, and they prove wrong in the end. Think of it, how many times would a holder of DELL have gotten out after a run-up, only to find he could never return below his sell price again? George Gilder makes a fundamental case, offers reasons for making predictions. But the greater scheme is ultimately only seen in future performance. Future performance, for now, is in the eye of the beholder: so is the greater scheme of things. Expect to be told what seems absurd to you, and expect to be wrong sometimes- but barring incredible performers like DELL, and you failing to recognize the strength therein, I'll bet you'll do fine. Hey, markets fluctuate.
