Johnd,
Agree with basically all that you said. I do believe that we will see a sharp reversal in early Oct. when the indexes hit a nice bottom and then we have an earning rally. Selling should again emerge and climax in late Nov. till Dec. ALthough I don't buy the Y2k fuss, I won't underestimate the mass fool theory. When every one is saying there is a Y2k problem, there will be, at least, some kind of fierce selling related to that issue, even if we don't have that problem at all.

I have been saying all along in the last two weeks that AOL is heading to the 70-80s soon. All the diehard AOL fans fiercely deny that. I think that 76 is a safe bottom for the next 6 weeks. Coming Oct., we will definitely test that level again and if we form a W, I will consider adding more.

good luck,
larry!

BTW, the selling finally materialized this afternoon. Otherwise, I would have said "what the fxxx is this? Are you all nuts?" We should be range bound until Aug. 24th. Another rate hike and tight bias can really cause some stir in the market.
