Starduster, I realize your comment was not directed to me, but I would like to state my opinion. I think that the people who believe the Bible are going to believe it. And the people who don't believe it won't. No matter how much evidence is presented either for it or against it.

Revisions is not exactly the correct word to use. The first Bibles were based on translations the were very iffy because of the language differences and symbolic meanings. The King James Version was written to please a human on the throne of England. There is no telling what liberties were taken to please him. Todays Bibles are the result of new and more accurate translation techniques and give a much clearer concept of the original ideals involved. My Bible, one of the very latest, still covers the symbolism but writes them in language, more readily understood by todays people.

Be that as it may, if you don't want to believe in the Bible, that is your choice. Just leave me to my beliefs. TD

>??? I have a copy of a 300 year old family Bible and it bears no resemblance to todays version, :-) <<

I doubt that.

Even if it is so, which of "today's versions" would it "bear no resemblance to?"

Thanks
Andy
